I left Portland, Oregon, yesterday afternoon, and I landed here last night around 6:30. The fires in California have filled the air with soot and smoke, and it looked like nightfall when we landed. All day today, you could see the ash falling from the sky, and it’s miserable! I’d much rather be back in Oregon! Boo, friggity, hoo. LOL.
I had a fantastic week, getting Carie Shields all set up and trained on her new A-1 Elite! It started off when Carie and her sister, Cindy, picked me up from the airport on Tuesday afternoon. There is a new Ikea right by the airport, and I happened to mention that I’d never been to an Ikea. That was all it took! I got a tour of the store, and I had my mouth hanging open from one end to the other! We had such fun sharing decorating and organizing ideas! Carie and Cindy are a riot, and they had me laughing constantly! By the time we got to Carie’s house, her husband, Jim, had already gotten the hydraulic legs on the table, so we teamed up for the rest of the job. This was my first set up without my husband, and Jim was very patient with me while I worked at remembering what went where. It was like when you are a passenger in the car all the time, then you have to drive somewhere on your own. You know you’ve been to that place many times, but you’ve never driven yourself there. We got it all together, though, and we had a good time doing it! He was just as excited as Carie was, and it was great to see! Over the next few days, we played on the machine, shared lots of stories, did some shop hopping, ate great food, and laughed until our sides hurt. I can’t say enough, how grateful I am to Jim, Carie and Robert, for welcoming me into their home and making me feel so comfortable. Not only did I enjoy seeing their excitement over Carie’s new toy, I enjoyed getting to know their family, and I was blessed by the time I spent with them. They have a beautiful new home, and I fell in love with their neighborhood! Before I left, I gathered up lots of information from their realtor. A girl can hope, can’t she? LOL. Not only do I have a new customer, I feel like I gained some wonderful new friends!
Jim and Carie. Jim said these are their cheesy faces!
Jim and Carie’s dad, working on putting up their new fence.
Robert, who has a very warm smile!
Rex kept me company while I got ready for my day.
Thanks again, all of you, for a wonderful time!
Welcome home! And you are not allowed to leave the state, maybe the city, but not the state:)
I missed the party AND Ikea! lol, I haven’t been to the new Ikea yet…..I’m still saving my nickels lol.
Lynn, it sounds and looks like it was a wonderful time! I think Carie is one of the nicest people I’ve met in a long time. The photos were fun to see, thanks for sharing your visit with the rest of us.
Thank you for not showing the picture of my bubba chub! We all miss you.
