She hopped right up there and helped herself! And the story about not everyone being an animal lover. We had a progressive lunch at our guild for Christmas one year. Suzanne was bringing cookies but she set them on a chair to put her boots on and her two dogs got into them. So she grabbed some buns instead. At our soup stop, the buns were set down on a bench while she took her boots off. The dog of the house started licking them. She gave up, told the hostess what had happened and they pulled a few off the platter and set them out anyway. The ultimate pet hater was the first to ask for the buns. Then she began to brag about being at someone else's house for a dinner party..... I'd heard that that lady's cats peed in the kitchen sink - onto her dishes. I had a giggle to myself. If she were to even pretend to like animals, her karma may have paid off.
