It is considered postal fraud and identity theft to subscribe to magazines under another person’s name. Fortunately, I have an example of this person’s handwriting, and all of the subscriptions were requested through hand-written subscription cards. I’ve been collecting copies of these cards from the magazine companies, and I can verify who the offender is through her handwriting. So far, 12 counts of identity theft, and 12 counts of postal fraud. The offender may think it’s an amusing way to harass me, but it is a criminal offense. My attorney is taking care of it, and I’m getting on with the good things in life! Cheers!
Magazine Subscriptions and Identity Theft

OMG, you’ve got to be kidding right? What a sad person she must be. Good for you not letting her have control.
xoxo
oh good grief! What the heck is wrong with some people these days??
I’m glad you passed it on to your attorney…she should definitely be prosecuted!
OMG. That is just amazing. I hope your attorney prosecutes to the fullest!
Well, who would have thought to do that….shameful!
You go girl!! Attack right back! We already knew this person was sad and sick, sick, sick. I love you, Lynnie.
Gee..that is incredibly inventive! How do these people THINK of these things? I guess when I’m in bed dreaming of quilting designs, they are in in bed dreaming up nasty schemes like this?? I like what is rumbling around in MY head MUCH better! I’m so sorry you have to deal with this…How is the kitty?
My brain doesn’t think of malicious things either. I have too much joy in my life to waste time doing that! Shamus is doing just dandy! He keeps me in snuggles, purrrrrs, and giggles!
What the @#$%???? Seriously?! Wow! Good for you in pursuing this and making sure the culprit is dealt with through legal channels. You shouldn’t have to deal with such nonsense.
I have not been in touch with very many quilters these days, weeks, or months. I’ve been running my tush off training for a marathon (which I finally ran last Sunday). Guess it might be time to fire up the machine again.
Hope your life continues to be full of those snuggles, purs and giggles!
I am dealing with the same situation. Magazine subscriptions, Craigslist adds, etc. How did you go about getting copies of the cards that were filled out? I have called the collection companies, and magazine companies, and have always been jerked around. I even had a private investigator look into it. Any assitance you could give would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
One frustrated Keri Goddard
