Our guild recently hosted Peggy Martin, a fabulous quilter and teacher. She taught us how to make the New York beauty blocks using the strip paper piecing method. I’ve wanted to make a New York beauty quilt for a long time, but I wasn’t thrilled about paper piecing. I so enjoyed this class! It was much easier and quicker than traditional paper piecing, and Peggy is a wonderful teacher! Her sample quilts were varied in style and color, her directions were very clear, and she was great fun! I especially appreciated the time she took to give each one of us individual attention. I’d recommend her as a teacher, to anyone who wants to learn something new and have a great time doing it!
Here are some pictures from her class. The first two pictures are of Peggy’s quilts, and the rest are of blocks that students made. I loved seeing how different each one looked!
