Here’s a picture of the freeform beaded brooch I finished yesterday.
The stitched and painted piece, which is now mounted to a canvas. I first saw this technique when I visited Linda Minton’s home studio. You can see her pieces which are on display at the Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top, Texas. You really should treat yourself to scrolling through her wonderful works of art!
Carla and I are thoroughly enjoying playing with different techniques, and seeing what each of us comes up with. Although we are using the same techniques, we each have very different styles. Even the way we work is completely different. I’m much neater! LOL. I think we are now going to work on doing some fiber wrapped vessels.

Pfffssst, pfffsssttt to you!!! I’m wrinkling my nose in your general direction!!
It looks like you are having a blast!
Love it! Hugs to you both.
I love it too Lynn.
looks like you had WAY too much fun! Love the brooch, and the painted piece is beautiful!
Wow love the brooch. How on earth do you make something like that, it looks so intricate!
Purdy! It looks like you’re having an artistic recharge. I can’t wait to see what you have to show us next.
wowie you guys! You sure are creating some wonderful stuff; are you sure you’re both ill? Yippee (not that you’re sick, yippee that you’re making such amazing art!) smoochies!
Thank you for the wonderful comments! In spite of fighting the creepin’ crud, this has been a fun week! I have 4 more days to play, so stay tuned!
Lynnie, I can’t believe that even with your voice almost gone when I spoke to you on the phone yesterday, you still managed to make me laugh my tailio off! I love what you and Carla are doing with the gesso technique … very fresh and exciting!
love and schmooshy hugs,
Linda
Hi Lynn, I love the painted piece. Perfect for this beautiful weather we are having. Congrats to your son.
that is a beautiful brooch. Maybe I should USE some of my beads instead of just owning them.
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog Lynn. Your work is very creative, I love it.
