I’m currently visiting with my dear friend, Carla Barrett, in Northern California. I arrived on Monday morning, and I got to meet her new grandson, Jack. What an adorable little bundle of joy he is! He is beautiful! Of course, he had to fill his diaper just as soon as I sat down with him! LOL. We spent the rest of the day shopping for all of the goodies we need to create art and, of course, grabbed the latest copy of Mark Lipinski’s Quilter’s Home Magazine. Lots of great stuff in this month’s issue! Check it out!
Yesterday, we hosted Vicki Finchum and Linda Van Dyke for an A-1 maintenance class. We had a great time! Not only did I teach these ladies a few things about their machines, they taught me things as well! I love exchanging ideas with other quilters! I’d already met and visited with Linda a few times, and she helped out in our booth at Road to California. She has an awesome quilt shop in the Sacramento area, High Sierra Quilters. She stocks lots of unusual fabrics, batiks, oriental prints, and is due for a large shipment of 30’s prints. If you’re in the area, the shop is a must see! I’d never met Vicki Finchum before, but I’d seen and admired her work. She’s a lovely person! She was warm and funny, and we all enjoyed sharing stories while we ate lunch. I’m sure that laughter could be heard all over the valley! I got to spend time with Linda again today, while I did a tune up on her machine in her home. Carla spent the day teaching a class at the quilt store. We got dinner on the way home, and we spent the rest of the evening vegging in front of the t.v. in our jammies.
Tomorrow, we art! Woohoo!
