In my little part of the world, it’s hot, hot and DAMN HOT! When I left for the Machine Quilters’ Showcase on June 2nd, my hollyhocks were just starting to bloom. By the time I returned on June 17th, they were already frying in the heat of summer! We almost never get more than a couple of weeks of spring. Today, it was 112 degrees and absolutely miserable! We are supposed to cool off to 111 tomorrow. Even the water in my pool is almost too warm to enjoy, and it’s a big pool! 55,000 galons of water that almost feels like bath water! How I wish I could live in a place that doesn’t fry. August is traditionally out hottest month of the year, and I’m dreading it. On the up side of things, I’ll get to spend the first two weeks of August in San Diego, then I’ll be going up to Oregon for a few days. If I get lucky, maybe I’ll avoid the worst of the summer. Tomorrow, I’ll spend time in my studio, getting a king sized quilt done for a customer. If I can get it finished early enough, maybe I can actually work on something of my own. That would be nice!

- You Are Impressionism You think the world is quite beautiful, especially if you look at it in new and interesting ways. You tend to focus on color and movement in art. For you, seeing the big picture is much more important than recording every little detail. You can find inspiration anywhere... especially from nature.

Wow – your temps make my 90’s feel cool. But as we say here in the South – it’s the humidity, dahling. My tomatoes are coming off the vine parboiled.
Hello Lynn, love the new blogness!
Re: the @#$% weather, it’s the same here – for the last week & a half it’s been hovering around 100° every day. Enough already! I’m NOT a summer person & am essentially pissed off from May until October anyway, but this year is the worst I can remember.
